Well we finally made it to Menjangan island in northwest Bali after spending a hectic New Years eve in the  Kuta-Seminyak area of Bali. Excellent place to buy and set off your own fireworks for those like me from countries where it is simply not allowed.

The small long boats leave from pegametan bay for the short journey across to Menjangan island. Once we got there it was time to gear up and walk into the water to start the dive.

It consisted of a wall dive with depths down to 45 metres and clear visibility. Excellent colour to the coral and fish life. Great variety of coral types and an easy fun dive at about 22 metres deep for our group.

The dive lasted about 40 minutes and finished in a shallow area of between 3 to 5 metres deep which was worth the dive alone. Plenty of fish life including anenomes and clown fish. Those that wanted could have stayed longer in this area of the reef after the safety stop was completed.

The second dive after lunch was the same wall but in the other direction and had a few small caves that could be explored. This dive was also good with all of the above seen again and to finish off we saw an excellent stone fish. I have to say i really enjoyed the dive here at Menjangan island Bali and wished I had allowed another day to dive the other side of the island.
